![]() ![]() ![]() Very little decision-making and tacticianship to be had as a result. If anything, Isaac has pickled himself into a really sad, bitter, irritable guy and seeing him be so caught up and combative over a second girlfriend, in the middle of a doomsday event, is just disgraceful to watch.Ĭombat was made far less interesting based on the universal ammo and the big emphasis on full-auto weaponry. And speaking of Isaac, I really don't see where you're finding this 'maturation' angle. The story is very poorly told, with little emotional weight to any given scene.which ultimately makes it harder to invest in Isaac as a protagonist again. I think it gets just the right amount of hate. Co-op really inappropriate outside of a horde mode or something. The weapon crafting and dual-frame structure is a neat feature, but is easily broken. Weapon balancing is fucked, enemy stagger is fucked, stasis nerfed to shit, a preponderance of bland new enemies like feeders, progression is arbitrary and nonsensical, side missions really aren't worth exploring, a dodge roll and crouch function that are both out-of-place and worthless, suits are purely cosmetic with no unique bonuses, characters make ridiculous decisions, super trope-heavy dialogue, weird logic jumps and plotlines. A lot of that hate is rightfully directed at the way they implemented microtransactions, which is why that fad has been thoroughly defeated in time for the next generation of survival horror games likes Callisto and the DS Remake.īut even outside of the MTs, Dead Space 3 did a lot wrong. I've played it enough to admit it's not the worst thing in the world, but I think it gets an appropriate amount of hate, which is good. I definitely agree Issac had a satisfying ending. The previous games were pretty short on easier difficulties or if you just avoided encounters. They certainly did a fine job at filling out the game's length with content. The weapon crafting system is bussin bussin.Mainly on the spaceships and a few of the side missions on the planet. While yes, the more open-level design allows for more exploration, a lot of the locations, unfortunately, ended up looking and feeling the same.Issac's base suits are meh, and only get good/great with the DLC.Which a lot of people miss out on nowadays. Issac and Carver's interactions are nice if you actually played co-op.How can someone mature if they're still stuck in their old destructive ways?.Yeah, the snow planet setting is bussin bussin. And this is coming from someone who likes the damn game. ![]() Btw I loved co op but man if they had co op in Dead Space 2 with hardcore mode that would of been bad ass plus if they added 1.5 times enemies I would of loved it.DS3 gets the right amount of hate and criticism it actually deserves. Or say like the government sector type city but on a planet this time. I wish the game took place in that city that the first game started with. I’ll say my biggest gripe with 3 was the atmosphere. I really like the power node upgrade system from the first game and being able to buy my guns from the store like the first 2 games, and I honestly loved the suits in the 2nd game the most. Dead Space 3 did really good when you were inside that monster and Isaac was scared that was some good atmosphere. I mean to say we wanted Dead Space 2.0 but we wanted it expanded like halo 3. Expand the weapon types expand the enemy types like they did, but add that horror flare and that same type of atmosphere but with a different twist. I thought it was gonna be the Halo 3 to Halo 2. I’ll sum up my expectations of it like this. ![]() Good game was just a let down surrounding the hype. ![]()
